Vin Scully retired at age 88 after almost seven decades calling games for the franchise, first in Brooklyn and then in Los Angeles. He debuted in 1950—the same year Connie Mack, born in 1862, retired as A’s manager—calling games for the Boys of Summer: Jackie, Pee Wee and Duke. Sept. 29, 2021: 1B Albert Pujols activated from COVID-related IL
Pujols is back on the active roster after missing the Dodgers’ Sept. 28 game due to side effects from his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer has hit .255 with 12 homers and 38 RBIs in 82 games since being signed by the Dodgers in May.
